With the local emergency declaration set to expire on June 8th, Tucson City Councilman Steve Kozachik says he recommends Mayor Romero keep the order in place for an indefinite amount of time. Kozachik was on The Buckmaster Show Wednesday and said from his observation people are acting as though the virus is in the past. Kozachik said he’s concerned about a “resurgence” of the virus.
Earlier today Tucson Parks and Recreaction tweeted “We miss you all and are grateful for your patience as we navigate through a reopening plan. It is not finalized yet, but we hope to have information out to all of you soon. Stay safe, healthy, and cool! We hope to see you soon.”
Kozachik said that Tucson hasn’t seen 14 consecutive days of decreasing infection rates, which is what the Centers for Disease Control recommends for beginning the reopening phases. There has been no indication from the mayors office or Tucson Parks and Recreation as to whether or not they’ll extend the order.
