Going to the Dogs

Are you ashamed when you're naked? I heard RC Sproul teach about nakedness. He said that human beings are the only primates that aren't fully clothed with hair. Don't you think that it is interesting that we are the only creature that makes clothing to cover our nakedness? We also go to great lengths designing colorful and attractive clothing to cover ourselves. RC was talking about Noah getting drunk and in his drunken stupor lying in his tent passed out and naked. His son Ham saw his father and made fun of his nakedness. His other sons Shem and Japheth walked backwards (so they wouldn't see their father's nakedness) with a cloth and covered their father. You see since the fall of Adam and Eve in the garden being naked and exposed to others was shameful. Conquered armies were paraded naked to humiliate them. And the Romans would crucify criminals naked as a further way of shaming them. We live in a time when human nudity is paraded and there is little shame in it. There has never been a time in history when pornography has been more available and accepted. From the beginning being naked was reserved for the marital bed and was sacred. Now texting naked pictures is applauded and we even see members of congress participate. Where is our shame? Some would say this is progress, but I think it demonstrates the further devolution of mankind in becoming more like the rest of the animal kingdom. So the expression that "we are going to the dogs" is beginning to have a new meaning.
